22 Weeks Old

This is the best profile picture we've gotten! She looks like a cutie to me! The picture of Baby B above it is actually at 20 weeks and it shows her (right eye) retina. Amazing! It also looks to us like shes making the rock & roll symbol with her right hand.. right on baby!!!!

A Host for My babies

Definition of Host: The animal or plant on which or in which another organism lives

This entire pregnancy I've described myself as feeling like a host for these two lives inside of me. I've felt it without much thought. I feel like my life has been taken over, my nutrients zapped. There is a whole list of things I can't do: drink, waste energy, eat too much seafood, get on a roller coaster, jump, lift, take really hot baths, drink too much coffee, etc... Then there are the things I have to do: get plenty of rest, eat right, take vitamins every night, go see my Dr. all the time, monitor my body and how its feeling, etc. So from the moments of finding out I was pregnant I have felt like a lot of my lifestyle choices came to a giant halt for the soul reason of trying to do my part in producing healthy living organisms...or cute little babies. This feeling for me came naturally.

It brings to mind abortion and one of the main arguments for it... "It's a woman's body she should do what she thinks is best" ... in my mind they need to restate that by saying... "It's a woman's body she should do what she wants" because to me in a matter of abortion there is no denying the fact that something else, another being, is living and growing inside of you. The "choice" comes in when deciding weather to host those living beings or not. Unfortunately, since the little tiny humans can't talk, they can't scream and fight for their life. That's why we have to! Brian and I have been given a gift, we have the ability to chronicle (as have you though our pictures) the growth of the twin girls from 8 weeks of life. It has been amazing so far. Life does not begin when these babies come into the world at 9 months. Please!!! I read a story online of a baby that was delivered and lived at 21 weeks of age. Not common of course but it still happened!

Life begins when their heart starts beating and we were able to hear our girls hearts at 8 weeks.

Hello Again!!!

My quote for today found by my best friend Beka, thanx girl!!

All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.

This quote could not explain any better the transition I've been going through of leaving a reasonably "happy go lucky life style" behind to being married with children and all the responsibility that's coming along with it. I know that I will find my new self, my new life, and it will be great and better than before, but I definitely have a sense that I am leaving my old life behind.

Hey everyone.. So Its been quite some time since I've posted anything juicy for you guys to read or look at. Brian is scanning new pictures of the girls today and I will get those on here pronto! So I am 23 weeks now and a lot has happened since my 16 week posting.

Around 18 weeks I had some pretty bad growing pains down my left side. I was pretty much in bed for a week and half and couldn't really move around too much. Thank goodness icy hot patches did the trick plus I'm sure the massage I got helped as well. Plus I spent a lot of time in the pool. I've become such an advocate of swimming and pregnancy. If I had a pool, I'd be teaching pregnancy water aerobics now. With all this extra weight I'm toting around the weightless feeling is awesome. So I'm sure that helped too.. Other than the weight gain my poor body is having to deal with, physically I've been feeling pretty good. Except of course that its getting harder to bend over or get out of bed.  Ugh!

As for emotionally, I have my ups and downs, which is true for any pregnant girl so I won't dwell. Feel free to ask Brian how thats been when you see him...

The babies had their 22 week appointment last week with the perinatal Dr. (a high risk baby Dr.). She did a level 2 ultra sound to see how the girls were developing. It went very well! Their brains, bones, and bodies look great! I know you all are still praying and I have to sincerely ask that you keep it up as the next 10 weeks will be the most closely watched of the whole pregnancy. At our 22 week appt. Baby B was showing to be 1 week behind Baby A in size (or 4 oz.) In the world of twins the Dr. assured us, as has Dr. Faro, that this is perfectly normal. There is no indication at this time of TTS. We are in the clear, so far. Please pray that they both continue to grow at equal, or at least close, to equal rates. If everything continues on the current course we'll be having these babies sometime around December 14th. We haven't scheduled a date yet...

So thats the update on all of us for now. I'll write more often. I feel like I'm finally coming out of a fog. We have been working hard to organize our house to get it ready for the nursery and the babies. I've also made a few purchases for the girls, I'll post some pix for you to check out. I'm done with our registries and I'll post links to those too... :)

Thanks for keeping up with this blog even though I've been lagging....Just remember my excuse I only have for about 3 more months...I'M PREGNANT!!!

Memories From Today!

(Brians in the background looking at his three girls..so sweet)
  • Getting "sick" on the way to our appointment because of those nasty pre natals... yuck!
  • Brian & I watching the Golden Girls in Dr. Faro's office before our appointment
  • Dr. Faro saying the word "girls" and knowing thats what was coming out of her mouth before and as she was saying it..my phychic ability is getting better all the time!!
  • Their little "bootie" picture.. (coming soon and very cute)
  • Brian's smile when she said they were girls
  • My dad telling me to get ready because their going to be little ranch girls with him
  • Getting my hair done today. A gift from my mom that I already had scheduled for after my Dr. appointment. Wonderful girly day from my mom, how fitting.
  • Brian hanging out with me at the salon while I got it done. We had fun talking about how many more salon days are on the way!
  • Eating  sushi with no sushi in it for lunch..haha. Just seaweed, sticky rice, crunchy stuff, and eel sauce! Yummy but funny!
  • Taking my first pictures of my prego belly
  • All of the wonderful and sweet comments from friends and family via email, facebook, text, and phone calls. I love you all thanks for making this such a special day for us!
  • My blue bubble gum snow cone that a guy was selling at a store by our house.. nice treat!
  • And of course my favorite TV shows that are on tonight..So You Think You Can Dance and BIG BROTHER 11.
What a wonderful day thanks to all of your prayers!!!

If you voted for GIRLS...YOU Were RIGHT!!!

Brian and I had our 16.5 week appt. today. First of all the babies looked great! Healthy and lovely.. Dr. Faro got some great pics of their feet, hands, heads, and butts, haha! Their weights were equal again and we don't have another appt. for 4 weeks. After that she said we'd be going every 2 weeks again until they deliver. My premonitions, mother intuition, or whatever you'd like to call it was right on. We found out we have two baby girls headed our way.. Baby A is looking to be our girlie girl as she was always center stage for the pictures and baby B (more like me its looking like) was quite laid back.. looking nice and comfortable! We still managed to get a few shots of her though. They both looked adorable to us and have grown so much in the past 5 weeks. I'll post their pics soon... Hope all is well with everyone thanks again for your prayers. Each one is making a difference every day in all four of our lives.

PS. I told Lola & Roxy they have sisters on the way. Brian's going to have a blast with all these females

Week 13: Can Anyone Throw Some Energy My Way?

People keep saying that your energy should start coming back during the second trimester. Well I've officially hit the 2nd trimester (although only by 1 week) and I can't find it anywhere!!! Everyone keeps asking me how I'm feeling, On the whole I have not been sick which is a blessing. I've had bouts of nausea, headaches, and some other minor stuff, but I will have to say that my biggest problem, and it is really starting to feel like a problem, is fatigue and lethargy. If I do anything at all... go out to lunch, go to a party, go to the store it takes all of the effort I have to get myself off the couch to even think about getting ready. For me, having “energy” in the 1st trimester meant having the ability to get off the couch and make it to the kitchen to get the ice cream instead of asking Brian or anyone else around to do it for me. I really don't have energy to think and work much less clean my house! I feel bad for Brian. I know he thinks I'm useless but he's been very very helpful and accommodating to my needs even while he goes to school. I just keep reminding him... "I'm growing OUR 2 babies" :) I feel lucky and blessed to have him he has been wonderful thus far. From what I've read about being pregnant with twins everyone says you get "pregnancy symptoms" x2. Thank God I haven't been sick x2 but tired x2 hands down I've gotten. Hopefully this "out of it" feeling won't last much longer... We have our next appointment on Monday please pray for equal weight babies just like last time. Love you all!!

Music Lovers

So in addition to our twins having no choice but to love traveling they can't help but love music and are destined to be rockers..lol ;) Brian & I live for music and the other day we started thinking about the fact that the twins have, technically already been to 3 concerts!!! I can't help but think that they love music because every time I listen to music I get an even more euphoric feeling than I did before I was pregnant. It doesn't matter what kind of music it is...rock & roll, old country, or reggae, if I'm feeling stressed or sick listening to anything automatically calms me down and makes me happy. In my eyes that can only mean there are 2 more souls, along with mine, rocking out and loving it!!

The 3 Concerts

Shreveport, LA
When we found out I was pregnant Brian and I took a short overnight trip to Shreveport, LA to absorb and celebrate our news. We ended up at a small intimate rock concert. The name of the band was Touching The Absolute.. They rocked, the venue was small, and we enjoyed it. It was a great getaway for Brian and I!

Corpus Christi, TX
Mom got tickets for Pepa (my grandpa) to go see an old county favorite, Mr. George Jones. Brian and I (and the twins) tagged along with Mema, Pepa, Mom, Uncle Chris, Jennifer, and Uncle Scott. We had a blast singing along, dancing, and loving life!

Houston, TX

Warped Tour with Brian, Beka, Kennady, & Morgan. There were about 10 stages set up with bands playing all day. We got there around 4 to miss the scorching heat and stayed till the end around 10. Lots of bands and loud music. Nice!! Here are a few pix from Warped Tour.
