Cozumel 2012

We recently took a trip to Cozumel, Mexico with the girls. They were invited to be flower girls by our friends, Erin & John, who have truly become the girls Aunt E & Uncle John. We were so thankful to our family for making this trip possible! My mom and I had a deal before leaving the US --- she promised to help lots with the girls!! I was pretty nervous about taking them on the plane, the sleeping situation (yes I have spoiled my girls), and traveling with twins in general. Mom is always such a big help with them, so I knew this wouldn't be any different. Well she held up her end of the bargain. Between me, Brian, my mom, my dad, mema, pepa, Aunte K, and Uncle Brian the girls were well taken care of. They had a blast and were excellent travelers!!! They did better than I ever could have imagined. I guess it's in their blood!!!! If Brian & I could travel for a living we would!! They were the most precious flower girls ever and were a delight throughout! Here are a few pictures and some short videos.

Summer Fun!

We just got back from our trip to Cozumel (with the girls) I'll post pictures soon, but ever since we got back all I hear is "pool momma, pool". So we set up a little water park in our backyard. Here are some pictures from today.

These little kids are so much fun! We start swimming lessons tomorrow with Ms. Megan. I'm so excited for the girls. This will be their 1st teacher/class experience. They are growing up so fast. We are so blessed.

Huck Finn Blues

I was doing dishes this evening waiting on Brian to get home. The girls and I were listening to the Margaritaville station on Sirius XM. It's a summer fav of mine. Always puts me in a tropical mood. Our family is about to head out to Cozumel for a destination wedding that the girls are flower girls in, so it seemed fitting to get the tropical vibe going. I was thinking back to our many trips to Key West and how it's just one of those places you can go back to over and over again and have more fun every time. If you want an easy tropical destination where most of the fun is within walking distance from your hotel, think about Key West.

Back to my dishes... a country song came on that caught my attention. Country isn't my usual genre of choice, but I liked the sound of the song and it was on the Margaritaville station. The girls must have been thinking the same thing because Pryscilla, soon followed by Eden, started a dance show for me. I love this song, I'm sure country fans already know it well, but it's called Huck Finn Blues by Brad Paisley. Excuse me, when I try to document the song title during the video, just wanted to make sure I remembered it and my camera wouldn't focus in on the screen. Hope all is well. The girls are great just growing up way too fast. Dad if you read this --- you would probably like this song.

Pryscilla's Manis & Pedis

Mema gave me and the twins a big box of strawberry shortcake lipgloss and nail polish for Mother's Day. Yesterday the girls got dressed in their new bathing suits, so I pulled out the bright green paint that matched and proceeded to paint their nails. They've been saying "paint" ever since we got the polish. After we were done I put the box back in the drawer by my bed.

This evening I was cooking dinner while the girls were playing as usual in their room. I'm always listening but they have built in play mates so they are great in their room by themselves 98% of the time. When things get quiet or too loud I always pop my head in to check on them. Tonight I was cooking and heard them talking some, then it would get quiet for a few minutes, but just as soon as I would get to a "check on them" point, I would hear one of them. I left them alone for about 10 min.

Dinner was ready and I called them to come eat. No one came, so I called again, and here comes miss Eden running in the kitchen yelling RED, RED, RED. Pryscilla didn't come and there was complete silence coming from the room. The feeling rushed in, and I knew somebody was up to no good.

I walked in to find Pryscilla standing in the doorway holding a tiny bottle of bright pink strawberry shortcake nail polish, which I promptly grabbed from her. My first instinct was to scan the room for damages. What would I be cleaning up for the next hour tonight???? LOL. To my delight I only saw one small dot on the carpet, and I thought hmmm pretty good --- thank you Lord. My second instinct was to check out the girls. I had already noticed something pink on P. So I grabbed her hands to get a closer look, and I see she successfully painted 3 of her own fingernails. As you will see in a moment she actually did a pretty good job for a two year old - barely any on her skin. About that time I hear Eden shouting "RED" again. I turn around and she is showing me her fingernails that Pryscilla had painted! She tells me, "Pricsa red paint me". I examine her nails and again I'm impressed!! I run to get my camera. I come into the room to try and get them to show me their nails for a quick pic and for my last surprise they both start pointing their toes. I can't believe P was able to get in pedis and manis all in 10 min time!!! She did seem proud of herself. :) The toes didn't look so hot but she deff put out a good effort. She did a great job for a 2 year old and barely spilled any in the process. Too cute!!!!!!!

Thank goodness strawberry shortcake nail polish comes right off with water! Enjoy the pics and the video at the end.

A Few Things I Don't Want To Forget

I need to get all of this on a video before these things pass. It happens so fast. Just in case I don't though...

Eden you came around the corner about a week ago and said that you wanted "BUNNY JUICE". I make the girls chocolate milk sometimes and it's in a big plastic container with the nesquick bunny on the front. This is one of the most adorable things I've ever heard. They both call in "bunny juice" or "bunny milk" now. Just love it.

You both like for me to "COVEE" (cover) you up a few times every night before you go to bed.

Eden you have a favorite color right now and it's BUE (blue)

You both are so sweet and constantly kiss bo-bos - your own, each others, and other peoples around you.

I want to be called "momma" and Pryscilla right now you are complying, at the moment anyway. Eden in the past week you've gone full on "mommy" on me. I guess I get to be one of each which is pretty cool.

You both still love "Dewey Doo"

You are about 1/4 potty trained.

Pryscilla you love to be "pretty" - meaning dress up, wear dresses, wear skirts, wear purses

Eden I hear "COLOR" from you about 10 times a day. The way you are saying "color" is priceless - will have to get that on vid.

You are both talking so much. We've even heard sentences starting up lately!

Your current top 10 love list at age 2.5:

10 - TRAINS
9 - BIRDS
8 - OUTSIDE
7- POOLS
6 - DANCING
5-ANIMALS
4 - COLORING
3 - MONKEYS
2 - BUNNIES
1 - PUPPIES

You both also love "nacks" (snacks), helping me cook, listening to music, going on drives in big blue, playing with babies and animals, being silly, seeing people you love, going to parties, cuddling, hugging, and kissing.
