Fairy doors & Outside Play

Last night when the girls went to sleep they left keys out for their special fairy doors, in hopes that Daisy and Moon Violet might take up residence. Thank you Noni for the special gift from Ireland. This morning they woke up to find the keys gone. Meaning their fairies have moved in. They were so excited to tell me the news as I rolled out of bed. Precious.

Today started off rushed, but has ended peacefully. After tidying the house up we went for a bike ride and walk. It was nice. Then we got ready for Christian ballet class. I'm so enjoying teaching again and watching the girls grow in ballet, after only a handful of classes. It's such a peaceful hour! After class we came home and did a little school work. We usually do this in the morning but today it didn't happen, so we squeezed in a story and a math lesson and a little handwriting! Now we're outside enjoying September's milder temps while we wait for Noni to arrive. What a blessing to be able to be with my children so much and to have the opportunity to witness all of the little details of their blossoming lives.

Silas' favorite word right now is "moon". He says it all of the time, and is always looking up at the sky for the moon. He gets so excited about everything, it's awesome! He's funny, theatrical, dramatic, energetic (to the point I can barely keep up with him), curious, emotional, and can be so very sweet .... sounds like another man in my life! :) Well they've both stolen my heart, in fact my entire family has ... I'm smitten with all 4 of them.

Sunday Outing

We had a family outing today. It was way to gorgeous not to be outside. Brian did a little fishing and we enjoyed the beautiful Christmas sunshine! It was a great family day.

We also want to wish a very Happy Birthday to my mom today. We skyped for the first time this morning, I guess we are all tech savvy now. We love you mom.

Pumpkin Patch

We ventured out to the pumpkin patch today. It was overcast and windy, a perfect fall day. The wind would blow and the twins would close their eyes and enjoy the cool air on their face, they were so adorable. I even happened to snap a picture of them with their eyes closed. ;)

Here are a few more from our shoot....

What A Day!

Today was a great day. Very long but wonderful. The girls slept till 8:15 which is about 45 min longer than usual and made me very happy. Ever since they started crawling about a week ago their sleep is adjusting to be better than it usually is. They've been sleeping good but now all of a sudden they are seemingly using all of the pent up energy they have been storing just waiting to crawl and sleeping really good.

At 8:15 we woke up and celebrated my dad's birthday in bed with one of the twins favorite jams, woolly bully, and a few toys. Then we sent birthday messages to him via video (although I found out later in the day that he couldn't open them up at work).

After the birthday fun, we got dressed for the day, packed up, and headed to Temple for our monthly Collier cousin play date. All of us (5 kiddos and 4 moms) were able to go for the first time and it was so much fun. We all joked that it's hard to believe we are in a "mom club". It's really great though for the kids and us. I have to add, it can be a bit of a zoo sometime, but a very fun zoo that I wouldn't trade.

After the play date we drove to Waco for dinner with Brian's family. We had bar-b-q chicken, potato salad, beans, and rolls. It was so nice visiting and catching up with everyone. Whenever I am with family I am reminded that all of our lives are at such different places, but it's wonderful to know we can always come together as a family to share good times, laughter, and love. It is a refreshing break from everyday life.

We got home tonight at 11:00 to end a very full day. The girls are wonderful travelers, although with Brian and I they really have no choice. We are always on the road and love almost every second. ;)

I want to wish a very Happy Birthday to my wonderful dad.

Dad, here is a poem I found that states exactly how I feel about you.

Every year, your birthday reminds me
how grateful I am that you are my father.
With all that’s going on in the world today,
I’m thankful I get to watch you,
to look up to you, being an example of a good man.
What a privilege it is to observe your strength,
your competence, and your kindness.
I am so blessed to be under your wing,
your protection, your care,
learning important life lessons from you.
If all fathers were like you,
the world would be a very different
and much better place.
Happy Birthday, Dad,
I love you so very much, Amber.
