Eden Can Crawl
Eden has been "crawling" a little bit over the past two weeks or so, but just this past weekend she actually accomplished it! She spent the weekend with my parents and her Aunt Kendl. It made their day when she crawled across the floor. She still seems to stop and think about it before she takes off, but she can do it! Good job baby Eden.
Playtime!
Pryscilla has an empty crystal light can. They both get a kick out of the sound of their voice when they "talk" into it. Eden is showing off her famous butterfly move (noni named it) when she gets excited. Pryscilla rides a motorcycle and Eden likes to fly to show how excited and happy they are.

A Visit to Oakhorn Ranch
It has been a while since we have been to Oakhorn (my family's ranch). We finally went down there on Saturday, to see the house being built and drive around so Brian could help my dad fill up corn feeders. It was a bumpy ride for Eden and Pryscilla, but they were troopers like usual.
While we were driving around the ranch, I was thinking about what a dichotomy my life is. I have met so many "city" people and "country" people that have such a distaste for either or. When I lived in Houston, I would meet people, all the time, that had never left the city. If they had, it was only to travel to another city. Same with people from the country.
I'm a crossbreed and my girls' are sure to be too. Judging from the last post and the current post it's pretty obvious we love both the city and the country equally. The country is wild, natural, peaceful, and untouched by humanity. Sometimes I feel like I am the only person stepping foot on a certain part of the earth and I wonder, who may have been the last person that walked here? Hiking in the country, no matter where it is, Texas, Hawaii, Wyoming, or Costa Rica, all gives me the same feelings: natural serenity, fresh air, love of nature, love of God, and this immense soulful energy. I will share that energy with the twins over and over again!
On the other hand there is my beloved city. Again it could be any big city...Houston, Seattle, New York, the list could go on. Ahh, the energy from the city is so different! When I am walking the blocks in NY, I am filled with excitement, curiosity, culture, and intrigue. The people passing by fascinate me, and I could stare at the architecture for hours. I love that you can go to an authentic Italian restaurant for lunch and end the day in Chinatown. Each place immersing you in culture to the point you feel you are actually there. Then there are the lights that make the buildings and streets glow colors of amber, green, and blue. The colors lighting up the sky line, bridges, and fountains. The city at night is unbelievable. True art. Human art. Man made art. The work of God through human hands.
There is of course the other side to the city. The trash and pollution. The "underbelly" of the slums. Some hate the city for all of those reasons. In the country it's pristine, untouched, so you rarely have to see the "ugly". I don't mind it. I look at the city dirt as the bad side of humanity. Our sin. What each of us personally fights against everyday as humans. In the city it is just right in front of your eyes and sometimes that is not a bad thing. It's a reminder of the other side's existence that will always be there until the end of time. Not only do we have to personally keep that side in check for ourselves as Christians, but it is also a reminder of the necessity of personal charity to society. If each of us charitably contributes to someone other than ourselves, a little bit less of that "underbelly" exists. I hope to share and teach that to my girls as well.

| KPaw and Pryscilla's priceless moment! Eden was sleeping in the truck so this turned out to be a perfect moment for the two of them. I'm sure KPaw will never forget Pryscilla's first time in the deer stand with him. He has been waiting on this one for some time now! Happy happy time. |

Aquarium Restaurant
Brian, the twins, and I met my mom, dad, and mema at The Aquarium Restaurant in downtown Houston. We had a wonderful lunch and then went to see the aquarium and white tiger exhibits. When we got to the restaurant there were only a handful of people there so we felt like we had the place to ourselves. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Houston. I can't say I'm a huge Landry's fan BUT they really do a great job on their theme restaurants, and I feel like their food is better. I had the fish tacos and they were very good. The best part of the restaurant is the beautiful scenery..you actually feel like you are dining under the blue ocean. Here are a few pictures from lunch.
