Today is Eden and Pryscilla's 1st Birthday. We celebrated last night with a very small family get together. This past week we have all been sick, which really threw a kink in my birthday plans, but God of course works it out as always, and from what I hear simpler is always better for number 1 anyway. The best part of the whole night is how much fun the girls had. After opening their gifts they played with them for over an hour before digging into their frozen cake. Freezing it was my Moms idea and a great one may I add. It let them get just enough cake to eat and just messy enough for me to handle. Eden got messy anyway! Pryscilla only took a few finger swipes of icing and that was messy enough for her. After cake, Kendl and I gave them baths and bottles. They ended their night with birthday kisses and wishes from all. Eden fell asleep like an angel and Pryscilla had so much fun she wouldn't give up. Noni ended up rocking her to sleep. I think this party was the perfect end to the prior sleep deprived sick week we all had. Everyone is finally feeling better and sleeping again and the girls have 2 more family Birthday parties to look forward to.
WHAT A YEAR is really all I can say right now. The past few days, I've watched all of their videos, looked back through pictures, and reminisced. I can't believe how much they have changed and how much has happened this year, yet how fast it all seems to have gone by. It's cliche I know, but so true! Maybe when you can say that and truly realize it you've finally "grown up". I love my girls so much and I don't see things slowing down or getting any easier anytime soon. I remember my Dr. telling me a year ago that her mom (my Dr. was ironically a twin) said after a year things ease up. We shall see, but this past week taking care of sick twins has proved otherwise. Maybe she meant healthy walking 1 year old twins??? I'll have to wait just a little bit longer to see if she is right. They are over their colds but still working on the walking part. I told them I'd give them until their "adjusted" 1 year birthday, since they were 7 weeks premature. So they still have a little time to be my babies :)
Happy 1st Birthday to two gorgeous girls with bright blue eyes, porcelain white skin, a smile full of teeth, and just a little bit of blonde hair...who will always be Moma's little babies.
